Unbelieveable. Home series losses to Baltimore and Seattle... That's just brutal.
JP needs to wake up. No more of this "We think we've got good hitters" and "we feel our bats are starting to come around"
There will be blips on the radar screen where the offense will explode but this team is going to be offensively challenged. Gibbons has managed okay considering... but somebody's gotta take the fall, and JP has said just as much. He knows he's responsible for the offensive failure of this team. For godsakes JP this is your team, and your job, take a shot at bringing in some offensive punch and don't just stand idilly by while your pitchers continue to dominate and come up with no descisions. This is downright pathetic. Good thing we got that RBI groundout today or we'd have been shutout...
On a side note, I used some tickets to go the game we won against baltimore and there where a bunch of us giving it to Mora all game long. He was a good sport, often laughing and gesturing at us, and in the 9th he pounded his chest twice and pointed at us, insinuating he loves us, and then we showered him with praise, which he loved. Gotta love when the players respond in good humor
, good times
Edit: Shaun Marcum IS our best pitcher. Doc's a horse, but Marcum consistently dominates. In my mind, he's our #1 guy

I'd be willing to put Carlsson as closer now. BJ just doesn't have the power pitches now it seems.
1 run again. These bums need to get a wake up call like what Ozzie gave to the White Sox.
I hope you didn't break your other tv today!

I broke my 50" HDTV out of frustration. I'm back watching games on a 19" TV.Nice trade off, eh?

The pain was eased just a bit last night with the win.
I hope you didn't break your other tv today!

I'd like to break BJ's other arm.

So frustrating.

I don't blame BJ Ryan. Remember, he's recovering from major surgery...he probably still shouldn't be pitching back-to-back days. That mid-May stretch where he inexplicably threw five innings in seven days is a likely culprit for his decreased velocity; considering that it was questionable pre-season whether he'd even be pitching by that time of the year, it was a terrible decision by Gibbons, just like it was a terrible decision to throw him out there June 8th, 9th, and 11th, even though he threw few pitches in the first two outings.
Overall I'm happy with Ryan's performance this year, but if he keeps pitching in the high-80s and struggles (or, god forbid, ends up back on the DL), the blame falls squarely on the shoulders of the manager and general manager.

I agree. Gibbons made a mistake. Another reason why he should be fired.
