Wiretap: Jays and White Sox Talk sign and Trade

Post#1 » by jalenrose#5 » Mon Mar 2, 2009 4:13 pm

Yes it looks like this may happen. The Jays are looking to sign and acquire SS Orlando Cabrera from the White Sox. I have no idea who the Jays would give away, but if this move happens, the Jays don't lose draft picks as a result and might I add, a very heady move by Ricciardi. I just hope Cabrera doesn't sign for some outrageous amount, which I suspect he won't since JP is going after him.

Intersting, creative, and probably necessary.

Great article!

Cabrera is a clear upgrade over anything we have in the middle infield but even if we do get him it's a shame it took this long to get a legitimate SS.

So much for that. I was excited too.

What are they doing with Bobby Crosby now? Would JP be interested in Bobby Crosby?

doh...

does anyone else feel that the turf/surface-area that is being used at the Rogers Center is a huge deterrent when bigger-name free agents are decididing if they should come to Toronto? It still bothers me that the Blue Jays are now only a handful of teams not using grass, and feel that it is a disadvantage.

There were even big-name players (Barry Bonds for example) who either had to sit out a game, or relegated to DH to avoid the harder surface...

I'm pretty sure he signed with the Dodgers last week.

Too bad, he could have helped this team quite a lot too.
