Hentgen to serve as Jays' rep at Draft

Post#1 » by LittleOzzy » Wed May 27, 2009 12:21 am

The Blue Jays are sending a familiar face to this year's First-Year Player Draft. Former Toronto pitcher Pat Hentgen -- the American League Cy Young Award winner in 1996 -- will serve as the club's representative at the annual event.

Hentgen will be at the Blue Jays' table when the club decides which player to take with the 20th overall pick in the first round. Toronto, which has five picks among the first 104 selections, has had eight of their former first-round picks on its roster at some point through this season's first seven weeks.

MLB.com will offer live coverage and analysis of the entire First-Year Player Draft on June 9-11. The MLB Network will broadcast the first round at 6 p.m. ET on June 9 from its Studio 42 in Secaucus, N.J., and those 32 selections also will be simulcast live on MLB.com.
