I don't know if anybody has noticed but we are drafting a heck of a lot of pitchers, which is a good thing. I just find it kind of ironic considering we had been discussing this year what we're going to do with the surplus of pitching we already have. Since our top 2 pitching picks were collegiate, they will be MLB ready alot quicker than a HS pitcher.
That said, we certainly have alot of trading chips. Pitching is always in high demand so I'm hoping we can spin some deals. I'm not sure whether any of you listen to the game plan at all, but an NY caller who is a Mets fan called in yesterday and suggested that he could figure out a trade for us that would make us the best team in the league.
He suggested that we make trade for Josh Johnson and get him out of Florida. He seems to think that Roy Halladay is the best Right handed pitcher in baseball, and that Josh Johnson is number 2 on that list. He mentioned that he has a workable contract and that with Roy Halladay and Josh Johnson as our 1 - 2 with our surplus of depth in pitching that we'd be really good.
This guy didn't suggest any particular trade, but I don't think Johnson would oppose playing in a stadium that actually has fans in it, plus on a staff with the Doc and a great hitting team.
With the exceedingly large depth we have in pitching i would suggest packaging Rios with a young arm, whether it be one of our drafted arms or one of the ones we already have in the system.
Regardless, i think it's time to make a move, and I'm pretty sure that Rios is the guy I'd want to deal. You can probably get some bang for your dollar especially in a package, get rid of his contract, get rid of his lackadaisical outfielding and I'm pretty sure we can't get Vernon unless the Skanks want him, any other trade ideas anybody? We have tons of arms we can use in packages.

As a side note, Josh Johnson has already beaten Johan Santana twice this year. It's not surprising that the Mets fan wants him out of his division lol.
