Jenkins to be on The Fan (recap'd)

Recap
-He had been in contact with the Jays for most of the day leading up to the draft so he wasn't surprised.
-Big Doc Halladay fan, also an admirer of Maddux.
-He likes to throw a lot and go deep into games.
-He had offers from bigger schools (Georgia Tech for one) but he decided to go with the smaller school.
-He wants to improve on keeping his stuff down in the zone and generally just improve his skills.

That's about it. Nothing revelatory but it's nice to hear the guy the day after he was drafted. He sounds excited to be a Blue Jay and he speaks hopefully about being Halladay's teammate one day.

Halladay and Maddux... control guys, nice. Halladay has better zip than Maddux had even at his peak, but yeah, those are two guys you could certainly do a lot worse than as far as role models. It'd be so awesome if Doc took Jenkins under his wing and turned him into a dirty potential ace.
