bautista is not pretty much as good a fielder at 3B as scott rolen.

Rolen plays Hall of fame D imo.

Dudes got 7 gold gloves which is third for a 3B in the modern era of baseball

I'd trade him, but it wouldn't be based on bautistas d.

Ok ok you guys are right that Rolen is a better fielder; he's been called the best defensive 3B of all time. The point I'm trying to make though is that the drop off between Rolen and Bautista wouldn't make much of a difference in terms of runs scored between now and the end of the season. Bautista is absolutely a plus fielder, and I can't imagine that drop off between the two allowing more than a small handful of runs to cross the plate this year, if that. So I do think that Bautista is a capable replacement, and then by the deadline Snider will probably be ready to come back and start in left again.
