What Happened Here?

Post#1 » by zilby » Wed Jul 22, 2009 11:14 pm

wow, its funny once the jays start to decline all of the posters and fans do too.

aside from stickied threads, on the first page, there are only 4 multi page topics, and all of them are only 2 pages. recruiting time again?

plz dont lock ozzy, the last ST got 2 pages, it used to be 10 times more than that. see anything?

Yeah I've noticed this too. I'm usually around, but there's no point in talking to myself in the STs.

Probably people weren't too interested in the jays to begin with and its likely their success was the only thing keeping them here. Now that they aren't doing all that well, people won't want invest their time into talking about a lost cause.

I feel like a sell out. I've been working a ton of night shifts but I'm still trying to watch when I can. Sure, the Jays have been disappointing lately, but the progress of Romero, along with the All-Star calibre seasons Hill, Lind, Doc are having themselves, and the resurgence of veterans like Scoots and Rolen make this team still worth watching.

I've written off the season a while back, but I'm secretly hoping we tally off a crazy 10+ game win streak to get the excitement going again.

I noticed the decline too, which is a shame as I was just about confident enough in my knowledge of the game and this team to begin contributing to the board, only to have them lose and everyone disappear.

Hopefully they take this easy stretch into mid-August and make a bit of a run to get things interesting around here again. Everyone should be back to work and looking to kill time by then.

It drops off every season.

As soon as the Jays are out of it the board declines.

It actually declines on the Raptors board too, it's just not as noticeable.

Yeah, after they went on that losing streak in late May against Boston/Atlanta/Baltimore, it began to drop off. Not much you can do at this point, even if we do go on a winning streak. People have seen that before one too many times.

RealGM is a basketball forum with part-time baseball, football, and hockey fans. There are plenty of great blogs/forums for die-hard Jays fans: Drunk Jays Fans, Batters Box, Bluebird Banter, Tao of Stieb, and Wilner's blog

Those are all blags, though. Batter's Box is a vaguely forum like, I suppose. Still, it is a shame that Blue Jays Way went down the drain.

Maybe instead of spamming the basketball forum here we should go to other forums online in hopes of attracting people here.

But the Jays have had so many winning seasons in JPs reign.

I usually work evenings on most days so I can't watch games and post here as much as i'd like. Sometimes when i'm alone in my office i have a stream going even though i'd probably get in deep doo doo if i got caught. By the time i'm home i can't bring myself to stay on the computer too long.

Weekends i'm usually out when there's a game out so can't post then. Not only that but it's summer now so i guess people aren't at home as much as they would be in the winter for other sports.

I'm still lurking/following, but it's a long season and the Jays aren't giving me much reason to post

What he said.

The Jays have to trade Doc for a killer return, fire JP and go from there.

Well I still happen to watch all the games like an idiot but I guess I haven't found much reason to post either.

The Jays do this to me every year. There's always a period when you think they'll compete and then out of nowhere those hopes are crushed.
