Imagine Doc in the HoF with another hat!!
Just thinking out loud. Curt Schilling became a better pitcher later in his career. Doc is 32 now. What if he went to a perennial contender like the Red Sox and created a whole new baseball story for himself. He could end up going to the HoF with another hat.

It would depend on how many years he played beyond his years as a Jay, how many teams he played for, how many seasons with each team, etc. He spent 11 years with this organization (so far) and I doubt he has 11 years left.
Plus, he still has to have another few very strong CY calibre seasons to reach HOF numbers. He isnt a lock yet (though I see no reason that another 5 seasons of Doc-ness wouldnt net him that lock).

Would you prefer that he fell short of the HOF because playing on a lesser team for the remainder of his career denied him 15-20 extra wins?

**** your asterisk.

Doc is 32 but by no means is he suddenly going to drop off any time soon. He perfected his cutter just 2 years ago and since then he went from great pitcher to the best in baseball. To me, he's just starting his dominance. He's now close to unhittable with that plus cutter sinking to lefties, the 2-seamer sinking to righties, and the curveball, changeup and fastball. He has the consistent, delivery, mental makeup, and work ethic to pitch into his 40s at a high level. Remember, he only has 1800 IP on his arm so far and 129 pitchers have thrown more than 3000 in their career, so I see no reason why he can't go for 1200 more at the least. And knowing what we know about him, I'm positive he'll go in as a Blue Jay regardless of what happens during the rest of his career.

Is Curt Schilling going to make it? And do you guys think he'd go as a Philly? Those Red Sox memories were career defining for him.
