Damn, that was interesting. Considering his performance this season I don't think any of us would be particularly shocked if it turned out that Carlson just lost the handle on that pitch, but if it was retaliation then good for him. That pitch to the back looked like it hurt like hell, and the team shouldn't stand for Hill, Lind or anyone else taking that kind of abuse.

Ok, maybe Wells.

Edit: Here's an interview Cito did on the fan this morning. They mostly just talked about the brawl. Fairly interesting stuff. He obviously doesn't come out and say it directly, but if you read between the lines it seems that he's confirming that Carlson threw behind Posada intentionally. More interesting was Cito also talking a bit about fights back when he used to play the game. Apparently every time he got hit, he would always make a point of closing in on the plate even more on his next at bat.

Carlson definitely threw at Posada - you can always tell by reading between the lines of the post game comments. Besides when a lefty throws behind a righty, that's like 4 feet off the plate and other than Mitch Williams, not many guys miss by that much.

My favorite part was that toolbag A-Rod trying to make himself look like he was trying to get at someone but in reality making sure there was always two Yankees in between him and the brawlers at all times.

Also, I'm pretty sure Ramirez (the dude that was yanking on Barajas' chest protector) was actually trying to help Barajas by pulling him away from the fight. I think those guys are friends from back home. Cito went to strangle Ramirez but he stopped all of a sudden - I think he realized Ramirez was trying to help.

Not sure why but the first thing I thought of when the benches cleared was that Halladay would deck AJ Burnett. That would have been better than earning a wild card spot to me.

Yeah, while I agree it would have been funny to see, pitchers throwing punches is not a good idea.
