Bob Elliott says teams are considering Milton Bradley and Wells swap. There would have to be ALOT of cash included from the Jays to make it happen...
Bradley is no doubt a headcase, but to me, ANY saved salary, and ANY fewer years of Wells makes the trade a winner.

If this trade happens without the jays paying a lot for wells, I would be the happiest dude ever.

Re: Wells to Cubs?
Yeah, I doubt the Cubs do this unless, as stated, there's a lot of cash/talent coming back to them in return. But you know what, I don't mind that if it still saves us a bit of money in the long-run, that's how much I want his contract gone.
Sometimes you gotta take some steps back, lose out on a trade, to make real progress in the future.

If we have to eat $25-30m, it's still a good deal. I wouldn't mind in the slightest if Rogers cut an oversized novelty cheque to pay the difference instead of going on a spending binge this off-season.
(I'm aware that we'd be paying it off annually rather than in a lump sum, I just like oversized novelty cheques).

Re: Wells to Cubs?
I would do if even if we eat some of that contract. A Bradley for 2 years around 60 million is better than a Wells 6 year $100 million deal.

Hells yes. Get 'er done, Anthopoulos.
I've actually always kind of been a fan of Bradley, but the idea of getting Wells to get him is just divine. I hope this is legit.

I would do this in a Heartbeat!!!
Wells is just too useless to us for the price we are paying.

Re: Wells to Cubs?
I would do this trade in a heartbeat too. I doubt the Cubs would without a lot of persuasion.
However, I might wait to see if Wells can be packaged with Halladay, since there will be a lot of big money teams that can take Wells' contract with Halladay if it means they give up less talentwise. Right now, those teams are the Angels (need SPs), Cubs (want to make a splash), Mets (similar reason to Cubs) and Red Sox (might want to improve their SP to compete with the Yankees). And, you can include the Yankees if they lose in the World Series. The Jays could then save that money they would have spent to get rid of Wells for free agency.

When I first saw this, I thought we would get Soriano.
