Hardwood Classics question.

Post#1 » by Greg Foster Jr. » Mon Dec 14, 2009 1:04 am

I can't find this anywhere on Raptors.com I'm wondering does anyone know if the Turk bobblehead is given away at every Huskies game, and how many do they have to give?

Why are they honouring Tracy Murry on March 5th??? He's no Raptors legend... might as well have a night for Milt Palacio too

Is there a list of who is getting honored? Is Dell Curry being honored?

Tracy Murray had a silky smooth jumpshot. And his cousin was none other than Lamond Murray.

And much like his cousin, put up big numbers on a horrible team.

Still though, one of the originals

Anthony Parker always reminded me of him haha

I was at the TWolves game where Dee Brown was honored. Kind of sad really, I think most of the crowd was too young to know him, he may as well have played back in the 1940's. I think Tracy Murray is deserving of the honour, I think he even made two stints with the team in the early years. They should honour Oliver Miller too, I am really curious to see how enormous he's gotten after his playing days. Kevin Willis would be a good one too.

Everyone on that list except Murray and Muggsy should be honoured.

?

On most franchises, Dee Brown would barely rate a footote. Put it this way...his best years were with Boston. When is the Dee Brown night in Beantown, anyone know?

I LOVE Alvin...my favorite all time Raptor...but to be honest, him being here also probably says a lot. Murray and Bogues are embarassing.

Come on guys, it is what it is, you know? Just a little fun and nostalgia for the early years. Its not like were hanging their jerseys in the rafters.

I was at that game too, I just think some people don't really care about History to be honest with you. I heard one guy saying it was stupid that they were wearing Huskies jerseys because "they weren't even in the NBA". I mean, if you're a Toronto Raptors and NBA fan... how do you not know the first ever NBA game was played in Toronto?

It's kinda funny that you mention that Dee Brown might as well played in the 40s, cause the girl I was with actually thought he was being honoured cause he was on the original Huskies team. I didn't say anything though.

Tracy Murray was on the original roster. Then he came back in the Kevin Willis/Keon Clark trade in 01 I think.

lol @ Oliver Miller.

Possibly some combination of ignorance and the fact that the Toronto Huskies were never in the NBA.
