Though that's in no small part because his LD% has absolutely cratered...it's now below 10%, which means that his 'expected' BABIP is only .214. So he's about 30 points unlucky, but there's also something rather wrong with his swing.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Hill after next season. He makes $5 million in 2011, but then has 3 club options totaling $26 million which the Jays have to exercise all at once otherwise he is a free agent after the 2011 season. Do we really want Hill at ages 30-32 when his defense has already dipped and his bat is never consistent year to year? Looks like 2011 will be a big year from him. For his sake I hope his current season is bad luck because no team is going to give him $26 million over three years at age 30 if this sort of thing carries over to next season.

esco out of lineup... hope it doesn't turn out where he has to go on the dl and no play ball for like two months ala snider.

He's only a year removed from being arguably the best defensive 2B in baseball. (http://www.billjamesonline.net/fielding ... inners.asp). I think this year is just an aberration. That hamstring injury didn't help.
