Well, he was decent a few years in Florida, so perhaps he still has that in him? Not like we're taking a huge risk here.

He's a career .253 hitter with good power #'s. Actually he's alot like Bautista w/o the walks in that he's had very good 162 game #'s (averaging 29/90 pro-rated for his career for 162 games) but he's never been consistently the guy on his team.

Low risk reclamation project.

As long as it isn't for a big prospect we need, or of any relevance, I don't see a problem.

Also, pray to God it's Overbum.

That's terrible work, if true...Jacobs has been at or below replacement level for the last four years. He really, really blows.

he had 32 HRs 2 years ago with Florida. The power numbers are there.

32 HRs with a .299 OBP, which got him all the way to a 108 OPS+, while playing some of the worst defense at 1B in the league. He managed a -0.3 WAR while hitting 32 HRs...he is the clinical definition of one who sucks.

He's just organizational filler replacing Wallace in Vegas, not sure why anyone is worring about anything . He wasn't traded for Overbay either, that's a fake report.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with him being brought in to play 1B in Vegas, just disputing the idea that he's an improvement over Overbay...or just about any other 1B in the league, for that matter.

I'm with Schadenfreude on this one. Mike Jacobs is no one will keep or someone to look forward seeing play. He did hit 32 HR's 2 seasons ago, but so did Brad Fullmer in 2000 and he was last scene or heard of in 2004.
