The Nationals have placed outfielder Adam Dunn on waivers, according to ESPN.com's Buster Olney.

Teams will have 48 hours to place a claim on Dunn and Olney reports that many clubs are expected to do so

more than half the players in the MLB will be placed on waivers, this doesn't mean anything. The Nats will not let him go for nothing and if No one was willing to match Rizzo's price at the deadline, no one's going to do it on a waiver claim.

There is more than likely a trade in the works. Players need to clear waivers now before a deal is allowed. Hence why its called the waiver-wire trade deadline on August 31st.

This is being blown out of proportion by sports media similar to what happened when it was reported that V-dub was on the wire last year pretty much every player on the 40 man will be put on waivers in the next few weeks.

Interesting thought. More likely he passes throught waivers and the Jays can pick up half his salary while sending him to one of those teams for the worst player in their farm system.

but that makes no sense. Jays just traded Wallace for a reason.
