Lind at 1B - experiment over?
So whatever happened to giving Lind reps at 1st to see if he can man the position next year? When was the last time he started there, 10 games ago? Was he that bad that there's no going back? Will we see more in September?

Yeah if Lind is going to be playing 1b next year, he's got to get some starts there. I would think we'll see more Lind at first closer to the end?

Well Cito refuses to take Overbay out of the lineup so we'll probably get a clearer answer in the offseason.

they can wait until the off season to put some real work into him if they're serious about giving him a go at first base.
and why should cito take him out of the lineup? Overbay's defense is good (certainly better than anyone on the roster at 1B) and to everyone's surprise he's even hitting better than Lind. Cito's job is to win the game, and besides I think Lind's got enough problems trying to get his swing back.

Lind has started 2 games at 1st this year. Certainly Cito can play him there at least once a week to give Overbay a rest. And Lind's swing is fine since the all-star break, just needs to learn to hit lefties again.

don't be so hard on Cito. he wants to give guys like Overbay a chance to play so they can get a nice contract (elsewhere) next year.
what don't you understand?
he's developing players (for other teams)

Not a fan of making threads and didn't know where to post it.... i'm pretty sure no one is gonna check the game thread this late.... i'll delete if you want to just keep it a lind thread.

Would like to see Lind get more starts at 1st, but you can't blame Cito.

Or, you know, it could be because Cito likes winning, and both offensively and defensively Lyle is better than his replacement would be.
I'm not saying that winning should be more important this year, just that it is probably a bigger reason why Lyle is playing... especially when you consider that Lyle was rumoured to be one of the main mutineers last year.
