BJ Ryan on the DL

Post#1 » by OldNo7 » Sun Apr 15, 2007 4:28 pm

So everyone can stop panacing now about him being a failure and doing your typical Toronto-fan banter about guys being worthless after 2 bad games.

Likely he should have been there at the start of the season. Interesting to see its regarding his elbow and not his back. Hopefully its not his herky jerky delivery finally catching up to him.

Not good. Elbow injuries are better than shoulder injuries, but it's still a cause for concern.

I agree that the team should have started Ryan on the DL to begin the year. Maybe he overcompensated due to his bad back and ended up hurting his elbow. The team should have been more cautious. If he started on the DL, maybe the team is able to keep Rosario, which gives them more options. Vermilyea is a fringe MLB reliever at best, IMO.

If Ryan is out for any appreciable amount of time, I would rather see Marcum closing than Frasor. Jason has good stuff but he thinks too much and is better suited to setting up. Marcum has experience closing at Southwest Missouri State where he was the closer and a ss.
