man i was hoping we'd get Manny regardless of napoli.

napoli still could've been used 4/5 times a week. twice at catcher, twice as DH, and once at 1B. it'd mean very limited at bats for E5 though.

oh well, i guess its a moot point now.

Don't rule out the power of Scott Boras having something to do with this. It was a packaged deal, and I'm sure there's more than meets the eye on this deal.

I don't think Manny is going to be a team's second coming, but .850 OPS is going to be a disappointing season for him, and at 2 million there's no one else out there you'll get that production from for cheaper on the FA market.

As for injury prone, based on what? He was hurt last year, and hasn't missed more than 30 games in another other year from injury. Granted there's 50 games missing from the year before, but that has nothing to do with getting hurt. I'm not a huge Manny fan, but he's a bargain for his production by any single metric out there. Now, he has his own perils for a team, 'cause he's **** crazy, but I'd take that risk every time when it's this cheap a price, 'cause if it goes south you just cut him.
