Yeah, this is definitely the brightest that our future has been for some time, and we're also building the sort of club that, if the playoff structure is changed to allow a second Wild Card, could upset the applecart a bit. Running three/four-deep with very good starting pitchers is our best shot at beating out teams with much larger payrolls, and we may have that luxury in the near future.

**** your asterisk.

did u purposely skip over the powerhouse bsox? adding A-Gon and Crawford to their existing team if they get healthy, they're gonna be top of the AL East. with that said, Jays can compete for 2nd place in AL East and hopefully grab the wildcard

Only a Sith deals in absolutes...
By your logic...a guy could have had season tickets for the last 20 years...never missed a game...had his house painted in the team colours...and named both his daughters Cito...
But then if this fan decides he no longer wants to be emotionally invested in a losing team...he wasn't really a fan?
That's quite a fickle person you have there. But idk, I think that the fun of being a fan is seeing your own team win. If you're going to be a the kind of fan that jumps off your own team to be one of the champs, why bother watching regular season games at all? Just wait for the WS or something then.

Just to clarify, my version of jumping ship is to become a local bandwagoner. The kind that never sits down to watch games, and can't name every player on the team. And if they ever win, suddenly I'd be back.
I would never, ever be a fan of another team. It's the Jays or nothing.

Which is perfectly fine in my opinion, but you shouldn't have used the term jumping ship.
Jumping ship means to go from one ship to another, you really should have said "losing interest" from the start.

I know you are trying to be funny but don't act naive. When it comes to sports if someone told you they were jumping ship you would automatically assume they would start to follow another team.

I personally didn't take his comment that way. I usually take jumping ship as 'abandoning ship', though I know it is also used in the way you're talking about.

Of course I did. It was a list of positives for the Jays. The powerhouse that is now the B-Sox is not one of them

Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

My bad. It was all just a misunderstanding then. The phrase threw me off
