Jays record when Rogers Centre is close to sold out

Post#1 » by Kapono » Mon Apr 4, 2011 11:17 pm

It would be interesting to have. Cause it seems like whenever the RC is jam packed the Jays always win.

IE: The last few home openers
IE: AJ Burnett's return

I live in Vancouver, so only chance I could watch Jays games live is if I drive down to Seattle when they come. But it is much enjoyable watching Jays games on TV when the RC is bumping!

The Jays have the best home opener record of any team in baseball. It's not surprising that a dome full of 50,000 people would prove to be a major home advantage.

was last year's season opener a sell-out? If not, when was the last time?

I can't remember the last time it wasn't a sell-out.

Didn't Frank Thomas hit a grand slam in the 2008 opener? That was awesome.

I think that was game 2 or game 3 of the series.

Either way, we swept the Red Sox.

That would be interesting to know. My two favourite games I have attended were that Burnett/Halladay game and the Canada/US game. Toronto can have an awesome crowd when they want to.

I went to a Jays game in 2008, when we beat the Red Sox 11-0, there was probably 40,000+fans in attendance, and it was real loud. TV doesn't do it any justice.
