I'd love to see Alex swing some of his meh prospects *cough* Snider *cough* into someone who can push this team over the top.

I'm not feeling this is a good idea; mainly because it's MAY and we're a one-man show on offense, and that's accounting for Beast providing enough offense for two or three guys and several of the others as giant negatives. We don't have the stuff to do it this year and we can't afford what we'd need. It's not the right time.

Seriously; you don't start dumping long-term assets at low prices to make a playoff push because you're playing .500 ball in mid-May. I should find the thread last year where people were advocating the same thing at the beginning of June, only for us to end up as much as 16 games back, finishing 10 short (and before anyone says anything, there's no sequence of feasible moves under the moon that would make a team 10 wins better over the course of less than 100 games). Stupid, hasty and ill-considered moves are stupid, hasty and ill-considered.

Hey Schad, like i predicted Jo Jo Reyes xFIP did come down, its at an extremely tolerable 4.60, that's fine for a number 5 starter. There are a dozen teams that would kill to have a lefty starter that will eat 180+innings and puts up a 4.50 ERA
