What to make of David Cooper?
He now leads the PCL with a batting average of .394 and the next guy isnt even withing 20 points of him. He's also 3rd in the league in OBP and is just having a tremendous season for LV. I know hes not a favorite of many but hes making people take notice. With Lind and McDade in AA I wonder what kind of value we could get in trade for Cooper.

Re: What to make of David Cooper?
It is odd that the Jays, who so desperately need another left-handed bat or two on their roster, have two such bats screaming for a promotion in triple-A. Odd... and very frustrating for a fan.
Thames will get the call before Cooper IMO. That is, if either get called up again before September.
I'd wager one of Cooper, Thames, and Snider will be traded before the year is out. If I had to guess, I'd say it will probably be Cooper. There just isn't enough room for all of them with the big club. They should be able to get something decent for Cooper, being a former 1st round pick hitting ~.400 in AAA and all.

Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Highly doubt you get anything worthwhile for him.

Three, actually, and despite his great AAA numbers Cooper is the one least likely to produce at the major league level. It is entirely ridiculous that all three remain stuck in the minors.

**** your asterisk.

Re: What to make of David Cooper?
I think that Cooper is going to be part of an upcoming trade. I also think we're going to be looking in the rear-view mirror at David Cooper for many years.
I know there's no place for him with Lind on our team, but I really think that Cooper is going to consistently hit .290-.300 in the majors for a long time. I think he can be a .290/.340/.450 player year in year out hitting in the #5 spot for some team.
I just hope that when we make a trade that we're going to get good value back because he's a real hitting talent. If he could play any other position (2B or LF) he'd have much better value and he'd already be on the team.

It pains me to see E5 and Rivera playing ahead of kids like Cooper.

James Loney with the potential to become Adam Laroche with a better average.
