I say we donate to Rogers to pay Fielder. We could easily raise 250M.

I think we should check out Cooper. He can play 1B.

Yeah Rogers can even set it up so we can pay through our current bill, pretty sure they take enough though for their services.

As I said a while ago, if both guys change their last names to Rogers; I'm sure the marketing team at Rogers can justify signing both of them to whatever they want. Prince Rogers, and Albert Rogers; can't beat that kind of publicity.

Maybe we could get AshleyMadison.com to sponsor the contracts?

Rogers have signed their first free agent...Hazel Mae has returned to Sportsnet. She covered the Red Sox during their two world series wins (04, 07). Hopefully she brings some of that luck to Toronto...

TORONTO -- A familiar face is coming home to Sportsnet with the return of sportscaster Hazel Mae, who will anchor the 6 p.m. ET weeknight edition of Sportsnet Connected on Sportsnet East, Ontario and West, beginning Monday, Nov. 14.

The announcement was made earlier this evening on the early edition of Sportsnet Connected.

“Hazel is a tremendous addition to our news team,” said Scott Woodgate, Vice-President of News and Information Programming, Sportsnet. “She’s a talented storyteller and outstanding live broadcaster whose sports knowledge will drive our content on Connected.”

In addition to her role on Sportsnet television, Mae will work across all Sportsnet platforms, including as a guest host on Sportsnet 590 The FAN and Sportsnet 960 The FAN, a regular contributor on Sportsnet magazine and sportsnet.ca.

The money for her could have went to Pujols.

Bet she makes an appearance in the Jays broadcasts much like Sam Cosentino did. Attempt by Rogers to "sexify" their image, guess Evanka Osmak wasn't cutting it.

I vaguely remember rumors about her banging half the team while she was here last time.

Apparently the same rumors circulated in Boston of her doing the same thing. Pretty sure she married former Blue Jays scrub, Kevin Barker. I remember Hazel Mae having some sort of one on one segment with the players when she was here and after that idea was canned she left shortly after.

Hey, a little sex with a promiscuous host never hurt anybody.

Bob McCowan interviewed AA and AA said he's not a fan of the 7-8 year deals as they more often than not come back to haunt the team. He did sidestep the Yu Darvish question however.

I have a hunch that the Jays primary interest is indeed Darvish, won't put it passed Rogers to figure out a plan to tap into the Japanese market to make oodles of money thus discounting the 100m dollar arm. It is a huge risk, but considering the likelihood of Rogers charging the Japanese to tap into watch Darvish outings online for a small fee, they would re-coup some money in all of this.

edit: mlbtraderumors.com has a cool free agent pool running

I worked in broadcasting for 10 years, and I can't tell you the number of girls I met who got in the business to meet and land an athlete. Ugh. It was really bad for the women who were generally interested in doing the job, as they had to put up with the come-ons all the time, as the athletes thought they were just there to meet guys.

When Hazel was around before, she just happened to have seats in the row behind me one particular game against the Twins. She got pretty loaded and was cheering very hard for Torii Hunter lol. Everytime he walked to the dugout she would go nuts and yell his name, but we were too far back, so he didn't notice.
