Good on AA for being on the ball and being interested in him, I suppose. He'll be a useful player for someone.

If he would have signed here he would have started at 2B, so i am glad we didn't sign him.

Yeah, not a big loss for the Jays in this case. Carroll would have been a great bench player, but clearly he wanted to start somewhere, and thankfully that isn't going to be in Toronto. Bring back Kelly Johnson for two years and be done with the 2B situation.

Carroll would have been a decent short-term option at 2B. They need a high OBP guy at that position, and Carroll fits that bill.

Of course, you take the "good" Kelly Johnson over the regular Carroll any day of the week, but the former isn't guaranteed. If KJ can replicate what he did in the 115 AB's for the Jays last year over the next couple seasons, I think we'd all be very pleased.
