Well next year the FA class has some solid pitchers. Top names are Cole Hamels, Matt Cain, zack greinke.
Personally I would go for hamels or Cain.
So the main question is, should the jays sign a free agent next year or trade for one this year?
Should the Jays trade for a starter or sign one next year?

It all depends on who is available. I don't expect Hamels to make it to free agency and Cain and Greinke kind of seem like trade possibilities for their current teams, assuming they are out of contention...
I would also be curious to see where some of our pitching prospects are in terms of development. This obviously plays a big role in whether any move will happen.

Sums it up for me as well. I think we will be able to get more value for our prospects since they all won't be in low-A and will be able to get a good deal trade wise.
I'm also open to waiting for a Deck McGuire or another Henderson Alvarez to come up (Henderson started the year last year in A ball) as our farm system churned out many of the pitchers in our current rotation (Romero, Cecil, Alvarez).
That being said I think Edwin Jackson NOW makes most sense, on a short term deal (under 4 years)
