Do you guys think that if the Giants cant sign Lincecum, they would take Bautista, in a one for one deal or would one or both teams need to add something more?

Interesting proposition..trade the best pitcher in the game, for the best position player....

I'd have to say that the Blue Jays would have to add a bit extra. For two reasons;

1. When building a team, most people are in agreement, pitching>hitting.
2. Age is a factor. Tim Lincecum is 4 years younger than Jose Bautista.

If we are to make this deal happen, I say it takes something along the lines of:

Bautista + Drabek + mid-level prospect for Lincecum.

Halladay is the best pitcher in the game. Lincecum is not even the best pitcher in his division, that would be Kershaw.

Trading Bautista for Lincecum makes absolutely no sense for the Jays, by the way. Bautista is a far more valuable player, especially when you consider their respective contract situations (Timmy is a free agent in two years).

Yeah why would you trade Bautista, signed for 5 years at $70M for Lincecum, who just declined 5 years at $100M+? Bautista is far more valuable, the Giants would accept that deal in about a millisecond. To suggest that the Jays would have to include more in the deal, justified with an overly simplistic axiom is pretty crazy.

Further proof just how delusional Jays fans are. Too much time spent on fantasy sports and The Show.
