What is "similar to that of a steroid user?" Gregg Zaun took PEDs, for example, but I didn't see him going from a journeyman catcher with little power to Mike Piazza.
We don't know exactly how steroids affected his performance (or really anybody's performance), but I think we can safely say they don't have the power to turn Jose Bautista into the greatest hitter alive. Otherwise, we would have seen plenty of other jumps over the last few decades just like his. His jump was simply unprecedented.
