He still has a lot of time, he will be scary good when hes ready. I bet we keep him up for at least 1 more start.

I'd rather him get a lengthier look up in the Majors. If AA and the Jays thought he was ready enough to make the jump to the Majors, then why not give him an extended look so that the sample size is large enough.

I agree. I'm just stating what I think will happen, not what I want to happen. I hope he stays up for until we get McGowan back, he seems to be the best alternative we have.

I don't think he was ready for the jump, but as long as we send him back down when he clearly can't handle pitching in the MLB (not like the Drabek situation). I think he should get 3-5 starts, but likely I see him getting one.

Giving a player a taste of the Majors, then sending him back down must motivate him.

When did I compare their stuff? You said that this move had the makings of another Drabek. Drabek's problem was that he couldn't command any of his pitches consistently and his composure was terrible. That is why he was so terrible. Hutchison, on the other hand, has blown through the minors with less-than-elite stuff because his command and ability to pitch is advanced for a 21 year old pitcher. The two aren't even remotely comparable, thus the comparison is laughable.

I was comparing their situations - as in Drabek was called up too early.

Did you not watch the game? Hutch was fine, his line would've looked pretty nice if it wasn't for Thames' **** and that horrible call on Maier

I would like to remind you of both Romero's ER's being caused by lack of teammates making plays. The Escobar "wind ball" and "throw to the guy sitting in the 3rd row" cost him.

Bad things happen in baseball and the pitcher does get charged with some of it, that's how life works. Can't say Thames is the only reason Hutch didn't play well.

That being said I hope he stays up a while.

AA said on Prime time sports the other day, Hutchison will here for good until McGowen is ready, then they will re-evaluate.
