Yunel has the best chance of bouncing back to his career norm.

I would normally agree, but his fangraphs page indicate his plate discipline has completely disappeared. He's just flat out swinging at bad pitches. This is no bad luck thing like Rasmus.

I think it's been a wasted year for him and I would tend to agree that he's swinging at bad pitches. Recently, it has looked like he's been giving up on at-bats, where one bad call by the ump and he just starts hacking away. The reason I said that he has the best chance of coming back, is because of his history and plate discipline. He has bounced back once from a bad year, and I find it hard to believe that his plate discipline has gone away altogether. I'm willing to chalk this one up as just a bad year.

Every single team has at least two holes in the lineup, even teams like the Rangers and the Yankees.

Oh, and Dwayne Murphy has to be sacked. If it was just one person trying to swing for the fences, fine. That player has no sense of discipline. However, whenever everyone not a recent AAA call up tries to swing for the fences, something wrong is being taught to them.

You can have two holes, if the rest of the hitters pick up the slack. Otherwise, one is usually the max. Lawrie, Rasmus (while part of the only 4 producing) - they need to do better...

According to wiretap, Swisher may want something in the neighborhood of 7 years 126 million.. I thought he would be a cheap plug in for 7-10 million, i guess i was wrong.

Is Swisher worth that much money ?

Nick's been a very consistent and reliable guy and as a 3-4WAR guy he's probably looking for 12-15aav, so 7years+ gets him into that 100m+ (forget 126/7 that's horse manure), but nobody's going to give him that length for that term when he's already 32-33. 5/60 is about max (and that's being pretty generous for GM insanity) and 2 years and 30m more than I'd pay him.

Id rather have Ortiz. But only if, Lind comes back this season and flops. Then we slot EE at first and Ortiz right behind Jose at DH.

Swisher is okay. I never thought of him as a great player and really, I would rather have one of the younger Guys up next year rather than having Swisher.
