I don't know how you're going to convince Rasmus or BJ Upton to move to LF at this point in their careers.

Oh, we just need the most important, and least available thing in Major League Baseball.

Not for the outfield, maybe if he wants to play 2B.

Marcum is the only (good) free agent pitcher the Jays probably have a chance at signing, although with him there is always going to be a cloud of suspicion as to whether he can stay healthy due to his pitching motion (he has been hurt this season). Other than that, he fits everything the Jays want: history of good performance in the AL East, very good strike out rates, and excellent command. Again, it depends on health with him, but I could see AA making an offer (whether Marcum would be interested is another story).

There's a reason why he only played 48 career games at 2B all the way back in 2007. He is beyond atrocious defensively at 2B.

Don't forget that he is a locker room cancer. Escobar may have had his fair share of attitude issues in Atlanta that have gone away (same with Rasmus in St. Louis, even though he was moreso misunderstood there), but BJ is on a whole new level. We're talking about near Milton Bradley levels here.

Greinke had an NTC with 5 teams he didn't want to go to, and Toronto was on it. Believe it was because of his SAD.

Sorry to disappoint you, but no chance he signs here.

Greinke is the only FA pitcher the Jays should target if they are going the FA route. Rather them overpay for a top of the rotation starter instead of paying for mediocre pitchers or pitchers with injury concerns like Marcum or McCarthy.

And money can change a guy's opinion rather quickly.

Of course this is only if they want to improve their rotation through free agency, they can do it through trade too, and that's probably a better way to go.

With Anthopoulos' completely bat **** crazy couple of months, hearing that he is targeting anyone sounds more like a threat than anything to get optimistic about

If ever there were an off-season to do it;
Its this one.

We have heard about an increase in revenue will lead to an increase in payroll
You have your increase in revenue, there really isnt any reason not to increase payroll.

I guess its poop or get off the pot time,

I'll believe it when I see it. I need convincing at this point and I won't take it on face value or simple declarations anymore.
