THe main reason Loria hired Redmond was likely because he came cheap.

No it doesn't. It means that no one in their right mind is going to turn down a big-league job to remain in the minors. Even a 'strong' organization loses minor league coaches to major league job opportunities. Ease up with the drama. It's better to have a minor league system where other teams want your guys... that shows a strong organization that has put people in a position to potentially succeed in the future.
