Re: Ideas to Improve the Jays Forum?
I like Series threads. However, I do think we will need a regular news thread. There is so much of league wide relevance that can be posted. I'm not only talking about the local dailies, but news of our rivals, injuries, etc. Not everything is worth a separate OT thread.

One question I have is if game threads are employed, will they be locked post game and separate post game threads formed? Or will pre- and post- game threads be contained in the same thread. If post game threads are created, it will clutter up the board even more.
No post game threads would be made. The game discussion would all remain in one thread.
Keep the ideas coming, we will review everything.

I wouldn't change anything, I quite like how it was last year and how things are currently setup. Wouldn't change anything really.
Maybe update some multimedia links and get ready for lots of unnecessary threads.

Re: Ideas to Improve the Jays Forum?
I'd be partial to series threads. Saves having two separate threads for doubleheaders.
Too bad there isn't a game day live chat feature on RGM, that would eliminate some of the stupid threads that homers make to blow-off steam...maybe...okay not likely on second thought.

More daily Jays related news, even though there seems to be none after the big trades haha. I cant complain seems to be a very efficient forum.

It's a numbers thing. Due to the volume of posters (and specifically terrible posters) the Raps forum is pretty bad right now even with all the moderating that takes place. Ease up on that, as you seem to be suggesting, and it would be completely unreadable.
Sometimes I wish the mods would do nothing on the Raps board for a few days just so people could see what a complete and utter mess it would be without them.

Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

Re: Ideas to Improve the Jays Forum?
It looks like most people here want to stick with the Series Threads and that's fine with me. I will say though after the first few weeks if they continue to go over 100 pages we may need to rethink things.
As for now though we will go into the season using Series Threads. Same tradition that if we win the series the same person creates the next thread.
_____
As for some of the other comments and suggestions in this thread I will try touch on them briefly.
I know we would love to have a daily paper thread here for news, but it takes a lot of commitment and unless someone steps up the plate we most likely won't have them daily. If anyone is interested in doing them, please go for it and they will be stickied each morning.
The lack of Moderation will hopefully continue on the Jays forum this season. With increased interest you may see a few locked threads once and awhile, but I don't expect any major changes.

Last season we had an "Around The League" thread for news and games discussion. I think that would be the best place to talk about other teams. Major news will also need it's own thread, but the small stuff could easily go in the around the league thread.

I'd like to have a separate AL East thread, potentially, morphing (hopefully) into a playoff race thread later in the year. Last season, we would have news-from-the-league stuff grafted on to quasi play-by-play from Sox/Yanks games at times, which was a bit unwieldy.

**** your asterisk.

I like Schad's idea of an AL East thread.
Also, a daily papers thread, at least for spring training when there's so many feel good stories would be nice. Should it generate a decent amount of interest, it could become a daily thing throughout the season.

That sounds great. If you want to do an AL East thread I will happily make one for the rest of the league. Great way to expand the discussion.
