Two Decisions to Prevent Legitimate Contendership?

Post#1 » by limegameboy » Thu Jul 11, 2013 2:26 am

I gather that we all believe catcher and 2nd base to be our main weaknesses. To be honest we would have a flawless lineup if these two trades didn't happen.

Aaron Hill for Kelly Johnson. Man Hill has been impressive for AZ. KJ had a hot month or two then turned into trash and left for nothing. Imagine Aaron Hill at 2nd instead of Boni, Kawasaki, Izturis.

Mike Napoli for Frank Francisco. Frank Fran gave us nothing but volatility and Napoli has gone on to be crazy productive for Texas and now the division leading Red Sox. :x

Cut JPA and Boni (two players who must be near the worst, like 30th of 30 for starters at their position) and put in Hill and Napoli and we have the best hitting in baseball.

Reyes
Hill
Bautista
Encarnacion
Lind
Napoli
Rasmus
Lawrie
Melky

.... yep
Two wrongs don't make a right, and three rights... make a left.

Napoli has ceased catching, because he has a chronic hip problem.

Hill likely would not have turned things around here; he needed the move.

As much as I was a defender of Hill, it was obvious the change of scenery was needed. No sense in getting caught up with the transactions that did take place, I liked them when they were consummated and can't blame AA for the moves.

To be fair, Napoli became a free-agent and may not have re-signed with Toronto

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
