The Power of Negative Thinking, Bonifacio Edition

Post#1 » by Schad » Thu Jul 11, 2013 12:07 am

There are times when the world just seems to be against you. Nothing is as it should be, and a feeling of helplessness washes over you like waves at the beach that one time you drank far too much and passed out while the tide was coming in. Times like we experience every ninth at-bat roughly six times a week, when Emilio Bonifacio and his league-worst wRC+ come to the plate.

So, what do we do? Whine a little more, our plaintive mewlings falling on the theoretical ears of an unfeeling cosmos? **** that. This is our universe, goddammit, and it will do as we please. In this thread, we do not bow and scrape to the vicissitudes of reality; we overthrow them. We bend space and time over and then demand that it makes us a sandwich, presumably not at the same time.

Proceed with your joyous exclamations at the news that Bonifacio has been DFAed, and it will come to pass. Go.

I don't know what you're talking about. And even if I did, I'm too consumed with delight at the end of Bonifacio's reign of terror to discuss anything else.

Nevermind. I'm clearly delusional from the news. I'll go with a classic.

Shut er down boys.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Never. We have the universe scared now; do not take its petty offerings of two-run singles.

I'm betting my mortgage on his fateful DFA before the All-Star break!

(Is this kinda what you were looking for, Schad?) :D
Is anybody here a marine biologist?

Why would people take bets on something that has already taken place?
