Jose Bautista cheered on by Wisconsin town

Sniffle.

The family of a young boy who died in an ATV accident gathered in his Wisconsin home Friday night not just to mourn, but also to cheer for Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista.

Bautista dedicated the Jays game against the Oakland A’s to 9-year-old Derek Lendosky, who died last Sunday after falling off an ATV and being run over by a mower.

.....

Before heading to the church on Friday, Steve Lendosky tweeted Bautista to let him know that one of his biggest fans had died.

“On Friday I will be burying my 9yr old son. He will be wearing his Bautista jersey and taking a ball you gave him with him,” he tweeted.

He says he never expected Bautista to respond, he just knew that Derek would have wanted Bautista to know.

Tough story to read, but a kind gesture on JB's part.
