EqA is a stat that basically judges hitting prowess. Glaus, if he had enough at-bats to qualify, would be ranked ninth in the AL and second among third basemen (behind only A-Rod). He's not just having a good year, he's having a fantastic year.
Using batting average and RBIs to judge a player is probably the worst possible way to do so.

Glaus is what he is: .250-ish average, .850-.870 OPS, 35 home runs, 140+ strike outs, and 80+ walks. I'll take that out of 3B anyday of the week. Realistically, he's not the #4 hitter on a great team. He's more #5 due to his strike out/low BA tendencies, but that's not a bad thing. Put him behind Carlos Delgado (for example), and he'd look so much better because he'd be just another great run producer instead of THE run producer. Unfortunately, Wells is closer to Torii Hunter than Carlos Beltran offensively, and there's no one (other than Thomas if/when he puts it together) that can produce what we need in the clean-up spot.
