He wasn't. And we never stopped.

He was pretty inconsistent last year, as well. Mostly, it's that his usually very-high home run rate is currently ludicrously high...that'll fall and he'll be back to passably mediocre again.

At 18-17, the Jays are somehow in a Wild Card spot. The AL is a bit odd thus far.

He was good in Cleveland, and to be fair he was pretty good for us for his first 70ish innings last year. Then it kind of all fell apart. All the extra innings last year maybe did something to his arm; or maybe the first 70 were an illusion.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

oh ok... i just remember that one point last year where they put him into the starting rotation because of injuries and he was actually doing really well... and people were calling him king esmil. and that's when i stopped officially keeping up.

We also named the other scrub Cy Redmond. When times get tough, this board gets purposely silly.

Longest win streak since last June when we went for 10+ right. Let's keep it going.

Wow that thing just bottoms out. Stroman seems to have a swagger to him too. I hope he can stay mentally strong and hopefully step into a SP role soon!

If the Jays do turn it around and contend for something other than early fall tee times, it's going to make the refusal to sign Stephen Drew even harder to swallow. Do the Rogers idiots understand how signing a quality 2B of his calibre might pay off with huge crowds in August/September/October.

He's always had a positive Little Man syndrome. It's really how he has succeeded at every level.

I agree. Hopefully they will keep winning with serviceable stop gaps and swoop in and get a solid 2B at trade deadline.

Hah, I was following the game on ESPN gamecast, and the final strike on that AB showed up as w-a-a-a-y outside the strike zone. I assumed a swinging strike, but thought WTF??? Now it makes sense.
