I'm not sure the Jays will make a deadline deal. They have allegedly reached their payroll ceiling, and it's doubtful Rogers will increase it again without a guarantee of increased revenue. The playoffs look possible, but not a sure thing.

I'm going to guess the big deadline moves will be either hoping Morrow is healthy, and/or calling up Sanchez. Or maybe they hope to catch lightening in a bottle with someone like Liz.


If they're leading the division at the break, you'd have to hope that AA and Beeston aren't completely incompetent enough to not be able to convince the bean counters that the extra pitching help will directly correlate to a playoff position that will see more revenue than they could have imagined. Time will tell I suppose.

No, it's not even close to unacceptable. It's baseball. There are 162 games in the regular season. There will be stinkers.

I'd rather get shut out in games we weren't going to win anyway then get shut out 1-0.
