It's frustrating the offense has cooled off but before these few games they won 6 or so games again after the streak was broken.

I know it's the Toronto mentality somewhat but have faith guys. Def gotta pick it up heading on the road.

We need to play 5 games over .500 the rest of the way to get to 90 wins, which should get us into the playoffs. Anything less and we are asking for trouble.

We are 6-5 so far this month.

AA please go get us a quality starting 2B. I'm getting tired of watching Tolleson play 2nd and having Lawrie switch between 2nd and 3rd to have SO King Fransisco hit and make fielding/throwing errors.

That may be true, but we're talking about a 4 game stretch of the offense struggling. Enough to recognize we need to turn it around, not enough to freak out.

They need to AVERAGE a certain % over the course of the schedule, but you should know by now that teams don't play to a mathematical average on a consistent basis. It's all about streaks and slumps. There will be stretches where they will play .700 or better and some stretches where they play .200. The key is to minimize the length of the slumps and either stretch out the winning streaks or have as many short winning streaks as you can.

The 93 team lost 10 of 11 at one point in the middle of the season too.

I think most of the "season is over" posts are tongue in cheek. We're leading the division by 5 games still. Even the most negative of people can't truly be serious.

i think if you asked most posters here at the beginning of the season how they would feel if the jays were 5 games back of the division leader on June 11, they would've said "where do i sign?!". the fact we've lost 4 of 5 while our offense has gone to sh*ts, yet we're up 5 games is still kind of mindblowing, not really knowing how to feel about it considering this is uncharted territory for most of us. we'll still lose another 44 games to be sure, let's just hope that's the maximum

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

That's 51-44 the rest of the way for a .537 win percentage. We're still another two weeks from the half way point of the season though. The All-Star game really is a good barometer and that's another month away. Even playing .500 baseball until then would likely see us 2-3 games ahead assuming the Yanks or Baltimore don't play .750 baseball between now and then. In reality, we have a huge amount of divisional games coming up and that, as always, will determine our success. In fact, 50 of our next 95 games are against the AL East.

Who said anyone was freaking out? I'm not panicking.

I'm just telling you what needs to be done.

The freaking out comment was just a general comment at the few posts freaking out and I know some were being sarcastic but it's typical of posters that follow Toronto teams. Just waiting for the shoe to drop on their teams.

And yes, you pointed out what needs to be done. That can be debated considering how bad everyone else is playing but as someone else pointed out, stretches like this are bound to happen in a 162 game season. It's just about minimizing the lows.

We'll see how things go on the road against the two teams right behind us.

I dont mind that sub, I do really dislike Pillar for Melky tho...especially considering Melky has not been that bad defensively this year.

I hate both. It just seems like this guy makes moves just so he has something to do. And while I agree that tolleson and lawrie might be slightly better defensively I don't think so when lawrie plays 2nd for 8 innings and then moves to 3rd for the last.

They aren't slightly better...they're miles better. Juan Francisco's adventures at third tonight should serve as a pretty good example of why.
