I believe Gibbons was the manager during the "it's not a lie if we know the truth" era (and Alex is just as bad as JP in that area), so I won't believe Bautista is OK until I see him on the field again.

Colby is the one who missed a month with a similar injury. Of course, he wanted to come back much sooner and the team wouldn't let him (perhaps for good reason).

Hope he's back within the week as it suggests, but one problem with this team construction is that they can't hide him at DH even if they wanted to. They have to wait until he's healthy enough to man the OF again.

Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista is making progress from a mild hamstring strain and could return to the lineup this weekend.

He missed a three-game series against New York this week after suffering the injury last Sunday while trying to leg out a base hit during a game in Cincinnati.

Manager John Gibbons said the plan is for Bautista to have a "light day" Thursday before really testing out the leg Friday with the team’s training staff.

"Hopefully by the end of the weekend, we’re hoping he can get out there," Gibbons said.
