Also: I know you're making the rookie minimum Drew, but that's no excuse for not trying the blazer on at the second-hand store before buying it.

Now that the derogatory stereotype precedent has been set, is it okay if I say that Ricky looks like a Jihadist?

Well that's taking things slightly out of context.

Even when Ricky was good, he didn't perform spectacularly in advanced metrics, which suggested that he was getting lucky (or aided by the Jays infield defense).

Stroman's FIP/xFIP, however, are fantastic. Too early to say that he's an ace, but there's nothing in his numbers that indicate that regression might be coming.

He's actually gotten better, in his first few starts he was struggling against lefties and showing some platoon splits. Right now he's locking down lefties as well to the point where his numbers against lefties and righties are identical.

On the broadcast last night they compared his first 10 starts to other sub 3.00 ERA Jays pitchers. The one that stood out to me on that list was Kelvim Escobar. Both smallerish guys with good life on the FBs and a nice Slider.

If we got what we got out of Escobar, plus his Angels numbers(career 3.86 FIP) I'd be pretty happy, but he could be better then that even.
That's what she said.
