It'd be nice to make something happen here in the ninth for the sell-out crowd. Offense has been a no-show tonight.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

I'm just delighted that the turf hasn't cut anyone to ribbons. Yet.

3 old turf teams represented tonight..... Behold, the era of turf;

Montreal
Cincinnati
Toronto
Seattle
Houston
St. Louis
Minnesota
Pittsburgh

Am I missing anyone?
Edit: Of course I was - Kansas City
These days:

Rogers Centre
Is anybody here a marine biologist?

Kauffman's turf era might well be the low point of human civilization. Beautiful park in a place with no shortage of summer sun, and it spent two decades with knee-wrenching green concrete.

I only caught the top of the 9th but Cecil looked sharp in his inning of work. His injury has been underplayed this Spring but we really can't afford him on the shelf at all this year.

The Jays take these Montreal games way too seriously. Edwin playing the field, Reyes and Martin playing day after night, etc. Just give Montreal a team so the Jays can stop kissing their asses for one spring.

(yes, I'm still worried that someone will slip on some snow or turf before Monday)

I'm fine with it. They have to play on turf 81 games a year and they're starting a season on Monday. Two proper games to get them in the groove of things.

Why does it always seem like an inordinate number of Jays get hit in the hand?

I was at the game, I took my little brother. So great to see the Jays live and Perez, Alomar, and Cito too. It was buzzing. So much fun. See you all next years, guys!

Oh, as for the stadium, I learned yesterday that the roof can only handle up to 3 cm of snowfall. It more than that is projected, they would cancel the game die to safety concerns. Three centimetres, no typo.
John Gibbons: "I have to do what's best for these guys and not what some bozo on RealGM thinks." (Paraphrasing)
