I assumed wrong. Guess they were really turned off by yesterday.

Also looks like Estrada is finally going to get a rotation spot, it's just not going to be for the guy we thought it would.

I'm surprised. In fact you'd convinced me it'd be Francis (in hindsight I'm not sure why I thought it couldn't be him). I have a little hope this is just a way to rest Norris for 10 days, basically skip him in the rotation by shifting Estrada to Norris' spot and bring Norris back in Sanchez'.

Either that or he's actually got a problem that they think they can fix, but either way it definitely wasn't my expectation.

Slowly but surely the rookies will start to go back to where they were supposed to be pre-Stroman injury. Norris in AAA will give him some more time to work on things while hopefully allowing him to come back better later in the year. It also takes some service time away, which might give the team an extra year of control if he's down there long enough.

My fear is that Sanchez needs to be replaced as well. Estrada can replace one of them, but who replaces the other? Please don't say Albers, at least not with a straight face.

Norris had lost any semblance of command on his pitches. He wasn't going to last much longer pitching like that anyway. If they think he can get it back by pitching in AAA, it's probably worth it to try. It's not like they're losing anything by putting Estrada there.

Sanchez's command problems are even worse, though, so I'm not sure what's going on there.

Yeah, with Norris off, then who? 'cause while I don't disagree about any of the negatives attributed to Norris, only that Sanchez has been worse, although I guess you could say he at least has positive movement, but only because he started literally unable to equal Tim Robbins' command.

But at least we know this is happening now because they have more time to try and figure it out.

May 1 Buehrle
May 2 Sanchez
May 3 Hutchison
May 4 Dickey
May 5 Estrada
May 6 Buehrle
May 7 DAY OFF
May 8 Hutchison
May 9 Dickey
May 10 Estrada
May 11 Buehrle
May 12 ??????

And maybe you have to survive the 12th with Francis/Albers or something horrible, then you've to almost three weeks to figure it out.

edit: Jenkins. Jenkins is a better option than Francis/Albers. The entire reason he's not in our 'pen is because he had to go become starter depth in case this exact thing happened when Stroman went down.

I have the solution: throw Dickey out there every 3rd day.

Or why not triplet Osuna-Castro-Sanchez for three innings each?

That's what she said.
