McCown on PTS: Gibby gone tomorrow
"there is a chance or a decision has been made" to relieve gibby of his duties tomorrow as per his multiple sources apparently.
yes like gibby is the real issue here. but at least it will give some people the pound of flesh they have been salivating for.
no other credible source has confirmed this though

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

Re: McCown on PTS: Gibby gone tomorrow
McCown has been flat out wrong with a lot of his Jays "inside info" scoops the last little while.
I'd be extremely surprised if the front office leaked his firing a game early, even if they didn't like Gibby (and they do).

Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Deciding which source is more credible when your only options are McCown and Wilner is pretty difficult.
Not surprising, if this is true. AA might love Gibbons but if his job is on the line and the decision comes from above him, he will throw Gibby under the bus in a second.

Wilner actually has connections to the Jays. McCown said that Lebron was coming to Toronto.

to be fair though, paul beeston is one of mccown's best friends. but yeah, i would take wilner's word over mccown's on this.

Re: McCown on PTS: Gibby gone tomorrow
Gibby isn't the issue. But if they think firing him rattles the chain of the players a bit and AA thinks this is his last chance then I can see it happening.
That's what she said.

There are several varieties of root vegetables whose sources I'd trust over McCown's.

**** your asterisk.

Re: McCown on PTS: Gibby gone tomorrow
The timing would make sense (off day before a home stand), but Toronto media in general (not just McCown) is pretty unreliable. I'll have to see it to believe it.
My guess is if it does happen, whether tomorrow or shortly thereafter, that Hale would be the one to take over on the interim. Hale's already on the payroll, and I highly doubt Rogers will pay for someone outside the organization when the GM's job isn't even safe.
This is a pretty common thing in baseball. Scapegoat the manager and then hope that a cosmetic change will do something (even by coincidence) in a last ditch effort to save the season. If it does happen, it wouldn't come as a shock.

Since when do managers get fired after back-to-back wins?

So much for that, at least as far as it happening yesterday.
The Beeston replacement will be the interesting one I believe, hopefully will replace AA.
