The rest of the AL has tried pretty hard hard to hand us the division lead and we're not taking it. Tampa ran into a Tribe buzzsaw, the Rangers took the series in Baltimore and the Angels took 3 of 4 against the Yankees.

Interesting. Where does that feed come from in not from one of the two TV crews?

Oh well.. We can't win them all. Only 1 game back.

I vote for Zilby to start the next ST. Lets go for another 11 game winning streak!

Valencia only attempted to go back because Miley was screaming at the catcher to tag him because he missed the tag initially. Valencia was basically just standing there, not trying to go back, until the catcher lunged at him.

I turned the play around and pretended it was Martin who missed the tag on one of them. The umpire made a mistake, Martin missed the tag, the runner missed home plate -- three people **** up. What would I think should happen? I'd say, tough luck Boston, he's out. You can't go back and do the play over. You can't give the Boston runner the run, he missed home plate! Why should he get a run because the ump made a mistake? The catcher then tagged the runner. The least egregious call is the runner is out and get the ump to admit he **** it up and apologize. It's not perfect, but I don't see a perfect solution here.

How can a professional MLB umpire make a mistake like that? Where the **** did he see Hanigan tag Valencia to call him out?

He should definitely admit he made a mistake and apologize. That should have been a run for the Jays.

Also, that was a clear obstruction call on the catcher.

The catcher may not block the pathway of a runner attempting to score unless he has possession of the ball. If the catcher blocks the runner before he has the ball, the umpire may call the runner safe.

They're not as bad as they looked early on. Wouldn't be surprised if they go on a huge run this month.

If there isn't conclusive evidence that should be announced at the stadium and you should not be charged a challenge. Pretty stupid IMHO.

No one thinks that. He's just probably a better option than anyone else in the minors.

This should've been the move for the Texas game last weekend.
