The rule isn't you can argue balls and strikes as long as you don't get in the umps face. It's hot out there. The ump is probably irritable. And he had every right to toss Bautista, so he did. I understand Bautista being upset but he needs to control him.

Players argue balls and strikes every game in exactly the same way without getting tossed like Bautista just did. Meals needlessly created the situation and caused the ejection.

It might come into play that the guy arguing balls and strikes is always bitching about it. I'd love it if Bautista never got tossed, but he broke the rules and he has a reputation.

my goodness if it isn't reyes being the piñata here its jose bats.

There is no proof he argued over strikes/balls. it really looks like the umpire took jose walking out the batters box personally after that BS strike call.

its clear as day when he did it the second time(jose swung at an outside pitch cause of the bad call prior) Meals took it upon himself to confront jose and engaged in argument. nobody here knows if jose initially argued about strikes/balls or if he really mentioned davis didn't come to a full stop.

regardless how do you come here saying a ump was justified in tossing a player when you don't know what was said?

If the ump did his job nothing happens.

Pretty sure the heat affected the players too. That bs strike call was the only reason jose had to swing at the next fastball which was outside. Lkke randle said that call changed the entire ab.

You say he should have controller himself. Thats exactly why he left the batters box twice to cool off and clear his mind. When he got back he just stated his case without looking at the ump.

The ump made it a show and now will be on espn like he wishes.

Since when do umps have the right to toss players cause their feelings got hurt. Stand behind the catcher and do your job. Nobody pays to see meals create arguments.

They have the right to toss anyone for arguing balls and strikes. They don't need any justification, they don't need to allow him 30 seconds of bitching. This is basic stuff and for sure Jose knew he was tempting fate. And why can't umpires make mistakes anyway? Players make them all the time. No one's perfect, just play on.

30 seconds of bitching? its clear now you have an issue with the player jose bautista.

He made a remark and stepped out the batters box go watch the video. YOur boy Meals took it personally when jose stepped out the batters box the 2nd time when he got into that 1-2 count. IMO jose stepped out that second time because he had to swing at that outside pitch due to the bs call prior. Meals took it personal when he stepped out the 2nd time even though no words were exchanged and proceeded to take off his mask and confront jose.

are you serious here? your whole argument is void when nobody here knows whether jose argued about strikes/balls or pointed out davis was not coming to a complete stop. Yes umpires can make mistakes but the game is not about them. simply do your job and stand behind the catcher.

I don't have any issue with Jose at all. Probably my favourite player on the team.
