He was amazing this year but you could see him slipping a bit as his fastball was starting to get murdered at times.
When I say slipping he was almost pitching at a Mariano Rivera level and then became human.

I hope he develops a nasty breaking ball and doesn't rely soley on his fastball and change up next year...

But what a find great upside

These guys are kids. All the wasted pitches way far out of the strikezone. Once they get their command right, and can get that nasty stuff just off the plate, or in for strikes, him and Sanchez will be dirty.

I like Osuna, but a 97 mph fastball that's straight as an arrow will get annihilated by MLB hitting if your you can't throw secondary stuff for strikes. That, or he has to develop a two seamer with movement. He's got a live arm, but his fastball has been looking terribly mashable for a good long while now.

Every team seems to have four or five guys that throw 97 and up. It's nothing special any more. You need to be able to pitch, and not just throw. At 20, I believe Osuna can become a pitcher and not just rely on heat to get guys out. He will learn to get guys off balance, or he'll end up in mid-relief or the minors.

Just give our young guys time to improve their command, location and their secondary pitches. They are going to improve. I just wish we had more of them.

It seems to me that good relievers are probably the most affordable way to improve your team. I have faith that this will be resolved in the off-season. Coupled with improvement from our youngsters, this is a positive sign. Not saying it's going to be easy, but there's gotta be some gems out there worth paying for.
