But Robin Williams always seemed up beat, joking around and a happy guy on the outside to those who didn't know him (in real life).
That's a completely different situation but just because someone portrays themselves one way doesn't mean they aren't fighting inner demons. On a personal note, my brother in law and best man at my wedding in '95 committed suicide a few years back. Of course we were shocked. He was the jokester of the family, always fun to be around and seemed to be having a blast.
You just never know and often it's too late when you/we find out the truth.
