Has there ever been a guy, in the entire world of sports, who's had steroids or PEDs unknowingly put in his body or urine? Or is Collabello really the first one to be so unlucky?

Carl Lewis spiked Ben Johnson's water.

Carl Lewis spiked Ben Johnson's water.

That was Carl's friend, Andre Jackson, spiking Ben's beer. And that guy didn't exactly deny it when asked a few years back, so it might have happened.

The film makes a strong case that Lewis' Santa Monica Track team teammate Andre Jackson spiked Johnson's drink to make him test positive. Do you have any doubt this took place?

This whole episode will have doubt in it until the day Andre Jackson comes out publicly and reveals exactly what, if anything, happened. Some days I sat in the edit suite telling myself this whole story was fantasy. Other days I would watch it and wonder: "Could it have happened?" And occasionally I would be convinced it was true! I had long riddle-fueled conversations with Andre (who lives in Angola), where sometimes I felt I was on the verge of a confession, but in the end I never quite got to the bottom of it and the mystery remains.

Good thing the Jays brought Smoak back., At least this shouldn't hurt as long as Smoak can stop striking out.

Feel bad for the guy though, wether it's stupidity of not knowing what he put in his body or knowing that he probably needed it to stick in the big leagues he still definitely took the long road and can't exactly blame him. I know I would do roids if I knew it would give me a shot in the MLB if the alternative is not doing roids and playing in the independent league for the rest of your life while your prime is dwindling away

I don't know why the American media keep burnishing his legacy with all the evidence now about him in the open.

It is being reported that Colabello used the drug Oral Turnboil mostly for his recovery. Due to an injury he attempted to use this to get himself healthy. It is also reported that he tested positive on March 13th of 2016.

Oddly enough for Colabello. Teammate and best friend Kevin Pillar has come to his aid. Putting the MLB on blast for this saying that following Colabello’s suspension “The league has to do some soul searching here”. He said and then continued with “I know Chris on the field and I know Chris off the field, and he would not knowingly take steroids”.

Do we know who wrote this?

Bayleigh Wells

Bayleigh has been a baseball fan for 10 years. His passion for the game is matched by few.

People are speculating on why one MIGHT use this drug, but no one knows any circumstances about Colabello 's use.

I think this piece has a good take:

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/columnist/bob-nightengale/2016/04/25/mlb-ped-drugs-chris-colabello-chemists-victor-conte/83513014/

Still, something about this is strange. Colabello is at least the fourth major leaguer busted for that drug since last September, but yet, Conte struggles with the concept that Turinabol is making a comeback.

Conte instead wonders if this is the latest wave of athletes utilizing inferior chemists.

Find a good one - as 14 of the 16 players ensared in the 2013 Biogenesis scandal taught us - and you can avoid detection by baseball’s drug testers.

“If you’re smart, you’ll never get caught,’’ Conte told USA TODAY Sports. “The research shows that if you go home from the ballpark, and take a fast-acting testosterone, it will peak at 1 in the morning, get down before the 4-to-1 TE ratio by 4 in the morning, and by the time you get to the ballpark, you can’t test positive. That’s what (Alex Rodriguez) and all of those guys in Biogenesis were doing.

Turinabol is such a old school / long lasting /easily detectable PED it really doesn't make any sense to use it. Unless you are buying something fancier and the sleazy guy producing it / selling it has contaminated it with something.

It would make it technically true when he said he didn't know how that got in his system 8-)

If I'm buying ritalin and test positive for adderall, it would be fair for me to say I have no idea how adderall got in my system.

Exactly.... the Bio-genesis and similar scandals have pushed the designer PEDs further underground. And the same guys probably still make Turinabol and sell it to the gorilla juicehead demographic. Those guys aren't gonna pay for the good stuff, they aren't getting tested, so who cares. So the stuffs all coming out of the same places.

Yeah, I saw parts of it. I admit, I laughed. Him choking up was pretty hilarious, good enough performance to make me even have some doubt--if only a shred--about his being guilty.

The American media stayed on Lance Armstrong's side until the bitter end despite a mountain of evidence and countless witnesses coming forward. Even after he admitted it publically, many writers still focused on the he did more good than harm angle with his cancer fundraising.
