What do you do with Sanchez?

Move him to the bullpen.

Keep starting him (unless he appears to wear down).

Isn't that the beauty of a 6 man rotation? If they have to use one of the starters in an extra inning game they can just do it without having to call up an arm to fill in the 5th day.

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

Not sure I like the 6-man rotation.

That means less starts for Happ, Estrada and Stroman.

Let Liriano make a few spot starts. If he pitches well, move Sanchez to the bullpen. Although if I'm in a game 7 I would want Sanchez pitching that game.

It's an option as well but probably a last resort for them. If it's someone like Liriano it's probably not an issue but they're probably not risking Sanchez, Dickey (because or Thole) or Estrada.

Who's the last team to use a 6-man rotation for an extended period of time?

Damn if you do, damn if you don't. At least you guys are level headed about the decision. The media on the other hand now has another story about not liking the idea because of the 6 man rotation.

This is a move for post-season positioning. When the rotation gets trimmed to 3 or 4 guys, you don't want wildcard Dickey in the mix.
Plus it gives Dickey some rest, Estrada more of a chance to rest his back, and also cuts down on Stroman's innings (something no one seems to be concerned about, which is odd considering how little he pitched last year).

Glad to hear his teammates weren't happy with him moving to the 'pen. You don't retire your prized race horse when you're dominating the circuit.

The way I see it, the 6-man rotation isn't set in stone. If Liriano continues to suck, he can be moved to a long relief/spot start role in a jiffy.

And though I would never have seen myself saying this two years ago, in a game 7 I'd want Estrada on the mound. I'm mesmerized by what that guy has done.

At most this will shrink the 230 innings projection to 210~
Still an impossible number for Sanchez.
Maybe the 6 man rotation thing will last a month.

Only way to keep him under 180 innings is going to the bullpen.

this is both sad and hilarious.

guess Shapiro's "my way or bust" methods must be rubbing some ppl the wrong way. if we didn't pass the trade deadline, i would have expected him to do the best Shapiro move, which would be trading Sanchez to Cleveland for a Cleveland player because Cleveland's the most Cleveland in all of Cleve America

Actually I disagree. I like the notion that this is collaborative to a degree. I think it was a smart thing for Ross Atkins to do this especially with a veteran clubhouse like the Blue Jays. However I'm not a big fan of going with the 6 man rotation.
