Ross has (kinda quietly) been having a pretty good first year himself

I don't think the Raptors faced the level of blatantly biased officiating in their playoff run that the Jays did. Fortunately, the four losses to the Cavs were pretty clear cut.

Nice to have Dinner back. But OPS+ wise, he's on a steep, consistent decline over the last four seasons.

I don't think Dickey will be left off, especially if he pitches well during his last starts of the year.

Martin will catch Dickey in the post-season, i think.

I see no reason for that. My guess is Sanchez/Marco/Happ/Stro are the four starters with Frankie as an emergency option/bullpen stretch guy, Dinner as backup C. Thole is garbage, and Dickey didn't really fare well in the playoffs last year, I have no desire to watch Russ try and fail to catch him again.

I was under the impression that Sanchez would be in the bullpen comes post-season time.

Apparently they plan on starting him, so if that's the case, Dickey will be the odd man out indeed.

Originally, i was thinking Marco, Happ, Stro, Dickey with Liriano and Sanchez in the bulllpen.

Yep, that's why they went with the 6 man rotation and skipping a start. They are saving innings on his arm.

Dickey only makes the post season roster as a SP. I guess it would ultimately depend on how he finishes and what they decide with Sanchez but my best guess is Sanchez, Happ, Estrada and Stoman are the SP's and Liriano gets put in the bullpen.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

They need Liriano to be a Lefty out of the pen although I'm not sure I like the idea of Liriano pitching in a meaningful spot given his control issues.

and remember how bad the commentating was, including talking about us not knowing how to catch fly balls while we were playing a team whose fan died trying to catch a baseball? and even afterwards, where the Dallas Stars were making fun of us for throwing beer a couple weeks after someone was shot and killed at a Cowboys game?!

:banghead:

Back on topic though, I'm glad to see him back and I hope Estrada works well with him again.

I was very happy to hear this. He was very solid last year and is a good teammate.

I think you are right on. We don't need Dickey in the pen as a long guy like Boston would do with Wakefield. Liriano going to the pen gives us another lefty option, which is sorely needed.
